Bamboo Hideaway Resort located on the beautiful island of Koh Mak Getting there : Four hours from Bangkok in the Eastern province of Trad, this small island (16sq kms) is part of the Koh Chang National Park archipelago. Once in Trad, a short journey to the coastal town of Laem Ngob and the option of a speed boat (forty five minutes), or the more leisurely wooden slow boat depart and cruises up the eastern coast of Koh Chang through a wonderland of small islands that are uninhabited, untouched and unspoilt. Comprising of 132 islands and still relatively unknown to western tourist the region has a multitude of activities such as diving, snorkeling, fishing, sailing or just relaxed on quiet, deserted white sandy beaches. A recent addition to the area is the pearl farm located, by boat, forty five minutes from Koh Mak. The gulf of Thailand is shallow, which means it is great for learning to dive, snorkel and kayak. |
